For VW Touran models without multifunction steering wheel and without an already installed Highline diagnostic interface / gateway, this must also be replaced (if the vehicle is equipped with an assistance camera (PR number QK1), a Highline diagnostic interface / gateway is always installed and does not need to be checked).
You can check whether the currently installed diagnostic interface / gateway is compatible as follows:
- Connect the vehicle to a diagnostic system (e.g. VCDS) – open control unit address 19 – in the info field, for example, the following appears:
- Gateway LOW = low = not compatible
- Gateway MED = medium = not compatible
- Gateway HIGH = high = compatible (the currently installed control unit does NOT need to be replaced).
