The original Volkswagen cruise control system for controlling vehicle speed assists the driver in maintaining a constant speed. Especially on long journeys and when towing, you can travel more comfortably and take your foot off the accelerator pedal. When the brake or clutch is pressed, the function is automatically deactivated; the resume function enables automatic restoration of the previously set speed. The simple and intuitive operation ensures maximum driving comfort.

This retrofit kit additionally features the “Speed Limiter” function (speed limiter), which can be considered a reversed cruise control. The driver controls the speed with the accelerator pedal, but the speed limiter prevents unintentionally exceeding a preselected/set speed. Switching between the cruise control system and the speed limiter is conveniently performed using a dedicated button. The multifunction display in the instrument cluster shows which of the two assistance functions is currently selected.

This set enables the use of the following functions:

Please check compatibility of the steering column control unit BEFORE placing the order. If the control unit cannot be coded for GRA (activate Byte 00 Bit 4 and save), it must be replaced. Important notes regarding installation and commissioning of the cruise control system

The following work must be carried out to retrofit the cruise control system; please carefully observe the activation instructions!

Installation of the supplied components
- Install the new steering column switch with GRA function
- Install the new accelerator pedal (only for manual transmission vehicles; not required for DSG)
- Install the GRA control wire between steering column control unit and engine control unit (not required in vehicles with factory-installed speed limiter)
Activation of the cruise control system

This procedure varies depending on the selected order option – please select the desired variant in the product options:
- Variant 1 – manual activation of the cruise control system
  - The activation of the GRA is performed according to the enclosed instructions via simple coding of the engine and steering column electronics
  - A standard diagnostic tester such as VCDS, VCP, VCTool, ODIS is required for activation
  - In this variant NO online connection to the manufacturer is required!
  - The new equipment is not reported to the vehicle manufacturer
  - Advantage of manual activation: lower-cost retrofit kit + not tied to an authorized workshop
- Variant 2 – online activation of the cruise control system via activation document with license protection
  - The activation of the GRA is carried out ONLINE via a VW authorized workshop or a workshop with online connection to the manufacturer
  - Activation of the GRA via VCDS, OBD-Eleven or similar testers is NOT possible in this variant
  - Advantage of online activation: the new equipment "GRA + Speed Limiter" is stored in the factory equipment record of your Volkswagen and the parts catalog is updated to the newly installed components

We will gladly install this retrofit kit at our facility at a fixed price of only 100 euros (including manual coding, variant 1) or only 200 euros (online activation using the original VW activation document, variant 2).
